Feather Falls is a small, quiet community in California. It is a rural area where people live close to nature. This community is in Butte County, California, located north and east of a large lake called Lake Oroville. It sits high up, about 2,982 feet (909 meters) above sea level.

History of Feather Falls
The community of Feather Falls has had a few different names over the years. Long ago, it was known as Mooretown and Moresville.
The first post office in the area was called Mooretown. It operated from 1888 to 1913. Later, a post office named Feather River opened in 1919. It closed for a short time but reopened in 1921. That same year, the name was officially changed to Feather Falls. In 1938, the post office moved to its current spot.
Feather Falls was once the end point of the Feather River Railway. This railway ran west from the town. Other small communities nearby include Lumpkin and Rogerville.
