Felton Little Park is a special park in Auburn, Alabama. It was first called Auburn City Park. This park is the oldest one in Auburn!
For many years, from 1949 to 1968, it was the home field for the Auburn High School Tigers football team. The baseball team also played there from 1949 to 1967. Today, kids can play softball on its three fields. The park is named after Felton Little, a city councilman who kindly gave the land for the park.

Park History: How It Started
Back in the late 1940s, the city of Auburn wanted a central park. They also needed a place for Auburn High School's football and baseball teams to play. Before this, the school teams played at nearby Auburn University.
Land Donation and Opening Day
The best land for the new park was owned by Felton Little. He generously donated the land to the city in September 1947. Two years later, on September 30, 1949, the park officially opened. It was named Auburn City Park. The Auburn High football team played against Tuskegee High School that day. This was a big deal because it was the first night football game ever played in Auburn! The field had special outdoor lights.
Renaming and New Homes for Teams
In 1955, the park was renamed "Felton Little Park." This honored Felton Little, who had given the land. In 1967, the Auburn High baseball team moved to a new field at their school. This new field is now called Sam Welborn Field. The football team played its last game at Felton Little Park on October 4, 1968. They then moved to their brand new stadium, Duck Samford Stadium.
Modern Softball Fields
In the early 1970s, the park changed. It was updated to have three fields for youth baseball leagues. Then, in 2003, the park got a big makeover. The three fields were changed into modern softball fields for kids to enjoy today.
Auburn High School Football Records
The Auburn High School football team played for 20 seasons at Felton Little Park. During that time, they won 42 games, lost 42 games, and tied 8 games.
A local Auburn resident keeps a Facebook page with old photos, memories, and records from the park.
