The Ferring Rife is a small stream in West Sussex, England. It starts in the West Durrington area of Worthing. This stream gets its water from a few places, like near Castle Goring and Titnore Wood.
These smaller streams join together north of Littlehampton Road. Then, the Rife flows through Maybridge and west of Ferring before reaching the sea. It flows towards the southwest, then west, and finally south. The Ferring Rife empties into the English Channel between the villages of Ferring and East Preston.
What Does 'Rife' Mean?
The word 'rife' is a special local word from the Sussex dialect. It means a stream or small river. This term is especially used for streams found between Selsey and Worthing.
