A City with a Rich History
Ferrol has a very long history. It started as a small fishing village around the 1st century BC. Later, in the 8th century, it became a Christian outpost.
The city became very important in the 16th century. This is when it was established as a Royal Arsenal. An arsenal is a place where weapons and military equipment are made or stored.
