Fervaques was a small village, also known as a "commune," located in northwestern France. It was part of the Calvados area, which is like a county, within the Normandy region.
On January 1, 2016, Fervaques joined with several other nearby villages. They all merged together to create a new, larger commune called Livarot-Pays-d'Auge. This means Fervaques is no longer a separate commune on its own, but its history and community are now part of this bigger area.
Life in Fervaques: A Look at Its People
Over the years, the number of people living in Fervaques changed. In 1962, about 602 people called Fervaques home. The population saw some ups and downs. By 1982, it had dropped to 510 residents.
However, after that, the village started to grow again. By 1999, there were 646 people living there. The population continued to increase, reaching 715 residents by 2008. This shows that more people were choosing to live in Fervaques before it merged into the new commune.
