Finance Trust Bank, often called FTB, is a bank in Uganda. It helps people and businesses with their money. The Bank of Uganda, which is like the main bank of the country, makes sure FTB follows all the rules.

Where is Finance Trust Bank Located?

FTB's main office is in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. It's located at TWED Plaza on Lumumba Avenue in an area called Nakasero.

How Did Finance Trust Bank Start?

FTB began in 1984 as Uganda Women's Finance Trust Limited. Its main goal was to offer banking help to people with lower incomes in Uganda. They especially wanted to help women. Today, about 60% of the bank's customers are women.

Later, the bank changed its name to Uganda Finance Trust Limited. It became a special type of financial institution that could take deposits from customers. On November 11, 2013, the Bank of Uganda gave it a full license to be a commercial bank. That's when it became Finance Trust Bank.
