Finn Wittrock (born October 28, 1984) is an American actor. He started his acting journey with small parts in TV shows. His first movie was Halloweentown High in 2004.
After studying acting at The Juilliard School, he became a regular on the TV show All My Children from 2009 to 2011. He also acted in many plays. In 2012, he made his first appearance on Broadway in the play Death of a Salesman.
In 2014, Finn became more widely known for his roles in movies like The Normal Heart, Noah, and Unbroken. He also got a nomination for an Primetime Emmy Award for his role as Dandy Mott in the TV series American Horror Story: Freak Show. He continued to appear in American Horror Story in different seasons. In 2018, he received another Emmy nomination for his role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

Early Life and Education
Finn Wittrock was born in Lenox, Massachusetts. His mother, Kate Claire Crowley, is a professor, and his father, Peter L. Wittrock, is an actor. Finn has a younger brother named Dylan.
Growing up, Finn spent a lot of time at the Shakespeare & Company theatre where his father worked. He often helped out as a pageboy or messenger. As a teenager, he went to the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. There, he acted, made films, and took movement classes.
After high school, Finn was accepted into the Juilliard School, a famous acting school. He decided to try acting in Los Angeles first, but he faced many rejections. The next year, he auditioned for Juilliard again and was accepted. He studied there from 2004 to 2008 and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Finn Wittrock started his career with guest roles on TV shows like Cold Case and ER. He also appeared in the Disney Channel Original Movie Halloweentown High in 2004.
Early Stage and TV Roles
After graduating from Juilliard, Finn played Romeo in Romeo and Juliet at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. He also acted in the play Candida. From 2009 to 2011, he played Damon Miller in the TV series All My Children. In 2010, he was in the teen drama film Twelve.
In 2011, Finn starred in the play The Illusion by famous playwright Tony Kushner. The director Mike Nichols saw him in the play and later asked him to audition for Death of a Salesman. Finn got the part of Harold "Happy" Loman and made his Broadway debut in 2012. The play won a Tony Award, and Finn won a Theatre World Award for his performance.
Breakthrough Roles in Film and TV
In 2014, Finn worked with director Ryan Murphy for the first time in the HBO TV film The Normal Heart. He also appeared in the films Winter's Tale and Noah.
His big breakthrough came when he played the wealthy Dandy Mott in American Horror Story: Freak Show. This role earned him a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award. Later that year, he starred as Francis "Mac" McNamara in Angelina Jolie's war drama film Unbroken.
Continuing Success and New Projects
In 2015, Finn worked with Ryan Murphy again in Hotel, playing two characters: model Tristan Duffy and actor Rudolph Valentino. He also co-starred in the drama film The Big Short. In 2016, he had a small role in the musical film La La Land. He also acted in a stage production of William Shakespeare's Othello.
In 2017, Finn returned to Broadway in the play The Glass Menagerie. He also appeared in the comedy film Landline. In 2018, he played Jeffrey Trail in the TV series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, which earned him another Emmy nomination. He also appeared in a music video for the band Interpol.
In 2019, Finn played Judy Garland's husband Mickey Deans in the movie Judy. He also joined the Netflix series Ratched as Edmund Tolleson and appeared in American Horror Story: 1984. In 2021, he was cast as Guy Gardner for a new Green Lantern TV series on HBO Max. However, in 2023, it was announced that a different actor would play the role in a new version of the series.
In 2024, Finn appeared in the documentary Steve! (martin): a documentary in two pieces. He played Steve Martin's father, Glenn, in a skit.
Personal Life
On October 18, 2014, Finn Wittrock married his longtime girlfriend, Sarah Roberts. She also graduated from Juilliard. In March 2019, the couple welcomed their son, Jude.
