The First Battle of Agua Prieta was an important fight during the Mexican Revolution. It happened in April 1911 in a town called Agua Prieta, in Sonora, Mexico. This battle was between supporters of Francisco I. Madero, who wanted a new leader for Mexico, and the Mexican government's soldiers led by Porfirio Díaz.

The Mexican Revolution was a major armed conflict. It lasted for about ten years, from 1910 to 1920. People were unhappy with the long rule of President Porfirio Díaz. They wanted more freedom and a fairer government.

Francisco I. Madero was a key leader. He called for a rebellion against Díaz. Many people joined his cause. These fighters were often called "rebels" or "Constitutionalists."
