Fish Island is a small island located on the western side of Lake Michigan. It is part of the town of Washington in Door County, Wisconsin. This island is about two miles (3.2 km) southeast of Rock Island. The United States government manages Fish Island. It got its name because many trout fish were found in the waters nearby.
Fisherman Shoal
About two miles southwest of Fish Island, you'll find Fisherman Shoal. This is a small sandbar. It only appears when the water level in the lake is low. It's not very big, just a few acres in size. However, it can be a danger for boats. Sailors need to be careful to avoid it.
