It's known as an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a place recognized by the census for its population, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.

The name "Fivepointville" comes from a special feature of the area. It's located where five different roads meet! In 2010, about 1,156 people lived here.
