Flen (pronounced like "fleen") is a town in Sweden. It is the main town, or "seat," of Flen Municipality in Södermanland County. As of 2020, about 6,577 people live there.
Flen started as an important place because of its railway connections. It grew into a city in 1949. Since 1971, it has been the center of the larger Flen Municipality.

Flen is known for more than just its railway. It has been mentioned in several famous Swedish songs.
Musical Mentions
- One well-known song is "Violen från Flen" (The Violet from Flen). Ulf Peder Olrog wrote this song in the 1940s.
- The town also plays a part in "Du ringde från Flen" (You Called from Flen). This was a popular dansband song by Grönwalls in 1992.
- The Swedish band Kent also mentions Flen in their music. You can hear it in "Flen/Paris" from their 2005 EP The hjärta & smärta EP. It's also in "Ensam lång väg hem" from their 2010 album En plats i solen.
Unique Fact About Flen
Flen is also famous for something very special: it has the world's northernmost vineyard! This vineyard is located in a place called Blacksta, near Flen. It's pretty cool that grapes can grow so far north!
