How Flintobox Started
Flintobox was started by three friends: Arunprasad Durairaj, Vijaybabu Gandhi, and Shreenidhi Srirangam. They were also parents and noticed that many children were spending too much time on screens. They wanted to create fun activities to keep kids busy and learning. That's how the idea for Flintobox was born.
They started the company in September 2013. They used their own savings to get it going.
Growing the Company
In October 2014, Flintobox received money from different investors. This money helped them grow their business. They used it to improve their products, reach more customers, and make their operations better.
At first, Flintobox made products for kids aged 4 to 8 years old. Now, they make boxes for children from 2 to 12 years old.
The name Flintobox comes from the word "flint." Flint is a type of rock that can make sparks when it hits steel. This name suggests how the boxes can spark new ideas and learning in children.
How to Join Flintobox
Flintobox offers different ways to subscribe. You can choose a plan for 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. You can also change or stop your subscription whenever you need to.

What's Inside a Flintobox
Flintobox started in 2013 with activities for kids aged 4 to 8. Each box usually has 3 to 4 play-based activities. These activities help children develop in many ways. Experts in child development design the boxes to make learning fun and healthy.
Every month, the box has a new theme. All the activities inside are based on that theme. Flintobox even works with the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad to create games. These games help with a child's motor skills, creative thinking, and overall development.

In December 2015, Flintobox added new products for younger children, aged 2-3 and 3-4. These new boxes have 3 to 5 activities. The toys in these boxes have themes like wildlife, vegetables, coloring, outer space, and numbers. They all focus on helping children develop 16 key skills.
By the end of 2016, Flintobox also started making kits for older kids, aged 8 to 12. These kits focus on everyday science concepts and experiments.
Today, Flintoboxes are sent all over India. The ideas and designs for the boxes are created by the company's own team. However, the actual manufacturing is often done by other suppliers. Many of Flintobox's customers are in Bengaluru and Chennai.
How Flintobox Sells Its Products
Flintobox sells its products only online. They do not have any physical stores. You can order and buy their boxes through their website or their app. This is called an ecommerce model.
