Florida's Natural Charity Championship facts for kids
The Florida's Natural Charity Championship Hosted by Nancy Lopez was a special golf tournament for professional women golfers. It was part of the LPGA Tour, which is like the major league for women's golf. This tournament happened every year from 1992 to 2006.
For many years, the tournament was known as the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship. It was held at the Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia. Chick-fil-A, a famous fast-food company known for its chicken sandwiches, sponsored the event from 1995 to 2005.
In 2006, a company called Florida's Natural became the main sponsor. They are a group of citrus growers from Florida. Sadly, in August 2006, it was announced that the tournament would not happen anymore because they couldn't find a sponsor for the next year.
A famous golfer named Nancy Lopez was the official host of the tournament. She is in the LPGA Hall of Fame! During the tournament week, she would present the Nancy Lopez Award. This award goes to the best amateur (non-professional) female golfer in the world.
