Flowers in the Attic is a very popular book written by V. C. Andrews. It came out in 1979. This book is known as a Gothic novel, which means it's a story with a mysterious and often spooky atmosphere.

It's the first book in a series called the Dollanganger Series. After this book, there were more stories about the Dollanganger family. These include Petals on the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, Garden of Shadows, Christopher's Diary: Secrets of Foxworth, Christopher's Diary: Echoes of Dollanganger and Christopher's Diary: Secret Brother. The story is told from the view of a character named Cathy Dollanganger.

Flowers in the Attic became a huge success, selling over 40 million copies around the world. It was also made into movies twice, first in 1987 and again in 2014.

A second movie version came out on January 18, 2014. It was shown on the Lifetime network. This film featured Heather Graham as Corrine and Ellen Burstyn as the Grandmother. Kiernan Shipka played Cathy, and Mason Dye played Christopher. Deborah Chow directed the 2014 movie. While the film got mixed reviews, many critics praised Ellen Burstyn's acting.

Stage Play Version
