From Store to Restaurant
In 1979, Fong Chong changed from a grocery store into a restaurant. It became famous for its delicious food. The menu included tasty barbecue, like ribs. They also served dim sum, which are small, bite-sized portions of food.
Other popular dishes were hom bao, which are steamed buns, and glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaves. They even served chicken feet, a traditional dish in some Asian cultures.
When Fong Chong Closed
