What is an Unincorporated Community?

How Fontenoy Got Its Name

The name "Fontenoy" comes from a significant historical event. It refers to the Battle of Fontenoy, which took place in 1745. This battle was part of the War of the Austrian Succession.

Irish soldiers, known as the "Wild Geese," fought bravely in this battle. Dennis DeWane, who named the community, wanted to remember their courage and heritage.
