Clarence "Foots" Walker, born on May 21, 1951, in Southampton, New York, is a former professional basketball player. He was known for his skills as a guard, standing 6 feet tall. Foots Walker played for ten seasons in the NBA, which is the National Basketball Association.

Foots Walker's Early Basketball Journey

Foots Walker started his impressive basketball career in college. He played for the Vincennes Trailblazers from 1970 to 1972. During his time there, he helped lead the team to win their second NJCAA National Title in 1970. He played alongside another famous player, Bob McAdoo.

After Vincennes, Foots Walker transferred to the West Georgia College. He continued to shine there, leading the West Georgia Braves to win the 1974 NAIA National Title in 1974. This showed everyone how talented he was on the court.

Playing in the NBA

Foots Walker spent a decade playing in the NBA, from 1974 to 1984. He played for two main teams: the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New Jersey Nets. As a point guard, his job was to lead the team's offense and set up plays for his teammates.

Highlights with the Cleveland Cavaliers

Walker joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1974. He quickly became an important player for the team. On October 17, 1978, he had one of his best games, scoring 26 points in a win against the Los Angeles Lakers. This was a career high for him.

He also made history with the Cavaliers. In 1979, Foots Walker was the first player for the Cleveland Cavaliers to record a triple-double. A triple-double is when a player gets double-digit numbers (10 or more) in three different statistical categories in a single game, like points, rebounds, and assists. This is a big achievement in basketball!

Time with the New Jersey Nets

After playing for the Cavaliers, Foots Walker moved to the New Jersey Nets. He continued to play well for the Nets, contributing his skills and experience to the team. His career in the NBA ended in 1984.
