A Glimpse into Fordham's Past
Fordham once had its own post office. This post office opened in 1906. It helped people send and receive mail in the area. However, it only stayed open for a few years, closing in 1909. The community was named after a person known as Mr. Ford. He was a church leader in a city in Illinois. An early settler of Fordham had lived in that Illinois city before moving to Missouri.
