Foster is a small community located in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, United States. It's not a city or a village, but an unincorporated community within the town of Clear Creek.
Foster is easy to find because it's near some important roads. It lies mostly along Eau Claire County Highway "HH". To its west is U.S. Highway 53, and to its east is Interstate 94. Foster is also the site of I-94's exit #81 in Wisconsin.
You can find Foster about 9 miles south of Fall Creek. It's also about 7 miles southeast of Cleghorn and 6 miles northwest of Osseo.
A Look Back at Foster's History
Foster wasn't always called Foster! This community was first known as Emmett. The name changed to Foster to honor a man named George E. Foster. He helped pay for a railway line, the Fairchild and North-Eastern Railway. This railway connected Foster to Fairchild and started running in 1912.
On August 27, 1994, a very strong F3 tornado hit Foster. This powerful storm caused significant damage in the area.
