Fox Harb'r Golf Resort & Spa is a special place in Fox Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada. It's a big resort that focuses on the sport of golf. The entire property is about 1,100 acres, which is like 830 football fields!
A Canadian businessman named Ron Joyce owned this amazing place. He was also one of the people who started the famous Tim Hortons coffee and donut shops. Fox Harb'r opened its doors in the year 2000. The golf course was designed by a talented person named Graham Cooke. It's an 18-hole course where a good score for one round is usually 72 strokes, which is called "par." Besides golf, the resort has many other cool things like a spa, a place for boats called a marina, a lodge for hunting, a winery, and even its own private airport!

The Resort's Story
Ron Joyce bought the large piece of land by the ocean in 1987. He then worked to create the resort, which finally opened in 2000. If you look closely while playing golf on the back nine holes, you might still see parts of an old lobster-processing plant. This shows what the land was used for a long time ago!
At first, Mr. Joyce imagined the resort as a private community where people would own homes around the golf course. But over time, it became a mix of a "private club" for members and a "public golf" course that anyone could visit.
Playing Golf at Fox Harb'r
The golf course itself covers about 250 acres. Graham Cooke designed it to be both beautiful and challenging. In 2001, a magazine called Golf Digest said it was the "Best New Canadian Course." Later, in 2009, the same magazine listed it as one of the top fifteen golf courses in all of Canada!
The course is 7,205 yards long and has a par of 72. It stretches along the coast of the Northumberland Strait, which is part of the Atlantic Ocean. Imagine playing golf with ocean views! In 2010, about 7,000 rounds of golf were played here. A very famous golfer, Tiger Woods, even played at Fox Harb'r in 2009. He set the course record by finishing a round in just 63 strokes!
What Else Can You Do?
Fox Harb'r Resort has many great facilities for visitors. There's a relaxing spa where people can get treatments and a conference centre for meetings. You can get to the resort by a road that Ron Joyce named 'Amazing Grace Boulevard'. Or, if you're flying in, you can land at the resort's own private airport, which has a runway about 4,885 feet long.
Important people have used the resort for special events. For example, Frank McKenna, who used to be Canada's ambassador to the United States, held an annual summer event here. It brought together business people from the Maritime Provinces to connect and share ideas. The resort also has a deepwater marina where boats can dock, and a lodge for game bird hunting.
