Fram (also called Colonia Fram) is a city and one of 30 districts in the Itapúa Department of Paraguay.

History of Fram
Fram was started on March 20, 1927. A Norwegian man named Pedro Cristophensen founded it with Mateo Sanchez, who was from Carmen del Paraná. Before it was called Fram, its old name was Apereá.
Many people living in Fram today have roots from different countries. Their families came from places like Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and Japan.
What Does "Fram" Mean?
The name "Fram" comes from the Norwegian language. It means "Forward."
This name was inspired by a famous ship. The ship was also called Fram. It carried the Norwegian explorer Fridtjof Nansen and his team to the Arctic ice in 1893.
Fram is also known as "The Capital of Wheat." It got this nickname because it has been a major area for growing wheat since it was founded.

Where is Fram Located?

You can reach Fram by taking Route Number 1. You would turn off at Coronel Bogado. Another way is to take Route Number 6 and turn off at Capitán Miranda.
