Who Was Frances Wynne?
Early Life and Education
Frances Wynne was born in 1863. Her home village was Collon, which is near Drogheda in County Louth, Ireland. She received her education at home with private teachers. Later, she also studied at Alexandra College in Dublin.
Frances started writing poetry when she was quite young. She loved to express herself through words.
Starting Her Poetry Career
Frances met another writer named Katharine Tynan. Katharine helped Frances connect with Matthew Russell. He was a priest and also the editor of a magazine called Irish Monthly.
Matthew Russell was very impressed by Frances's writing. He decided to publish her poems in his magazine. This was a big step for her.

Publishing Her Poems
After her poems appeared in the Irish Monthly, Frances started writing for other magazines too. Her work was featured in Longman's Magazine, The Providence Journal, and The Spectator.
Matthew Russell believed in her talent so much that he offered to pay for her poems to be collected into a book. This collection was named Whisper!. It was published in 1891 by a company called Messrs. Kegan Paul.

Later Life and Legacy
Family Life and Sad Passing
Frances Wynne married her second cousin, Henry Wynne. He was a reverend, which means a minister or priest. They moved to London, where Henry was given a church to lead.
Sadly, Frances passed away in London in August 1893. This happened shortly after her first child was born. She was only 30 years old.
Remembering Frances Wynne
After Frances Wynne's death, her friend Katharine Tynan wrote a special poem. It was called "A Young Mother." Katharine wrote it to remember Frances and her beautiful poetry.
