Major General Frank Cadle Mahin (born May 27, 1887 – died July 24, 1942) was an important American military leader. He served as a major general during the time of World War II. He sadly passed away while leading the 33rd Division. General Mahin was one of the highest-ranking American generals to die in the United States during the war.

Early Life and Education

Frank Mahin received some of his education in England. He later attended Harvard University in the United States. He graduated from Harvard in 1909. Another general from his Harvard class, Theodore Roosevelt Jr., also died during World War II.

Military Service

Major General Mahin was actively serving in the military during World War II. He was in charge of the 33rd Division when he passed away. He was one of several high-ranking generals who died in the United States during the war. Other generals included Malin Craig, Herbert Dargue, Robert Olds, Paul Newgarden, William H. Rupertus, and Stonewall Jackson.

His Family and Burial

Frank Cadle Mahin was buried at Arlington National Cemetery. This is a famous cemetery where many important American military members are laid to rest. His son, Colonel Frank C. Mahin, Jr., was buried with him. His wife, Mauree Pickering Mahin, also rests at Arlington National Cemetery. She passed away on May 27, 1985, at the age of 94.
