The Fraser River (in French: rivière Fraser) flows through the town of Saint-Paul-de-Montminy. This area is located in the Montmagny Regional County Municipality. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region in Quebec, Canada.
The Fraser River is important because it helps form the Alick River. The Alick River then flows into the rivière du Sud (Montmagny). Finally, the Rivière du Sud joins the mighty St. Lawrence River.
River's Path
The Fraser River is about 13.6 kilometers (8.5 miles) long. It starts from a small lake high up in the Notre Dame Mountains. This lake is found on the northern side of a mountain. The river's source is near Route 283, east of Saint-Paul-de-Montminy village.

A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains into a single river or lake. Here are the main watersheds near the Fraser River:
- To the north: The Alick River and Dominique stream.
- To the east: The Rivière des Cèdres and Noire North-West River.
- To the south: The Gabriel River.

- It first goes north, then west for about 2.8 kilometers (1.7 miles).
- Next, it flows west for about 3.0 kilometers (1.9 miles) until it reaches Highway 283 South.
- Then, it moves northwest for about 2.8 kilometers (1.7 miles). It crosses Route 216 during this part.
- After that, it continues northwest for about 2.6 kilometers (1.6 miles).
- Finally, it flows for another 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles) until it meets another stream.

River's Name
The name Rivière du Moulin (which means "Mill River" in French) was officially recognized on December 5, 1968. This was done by the Commission de toponymie du Québec, which is the official group in Quebec that names places.
