Fred Reynolds (born August 20, 1960) is a former American professional basketball player. He was known for his skills as a Small forward on the court.

Fred Reynolds played college basketball and later became part of the United States national team. He also had a professional career playing in different countries.

Early Life and College Basketball

Fred Reynolds was born on August 20, 1960. He grew up in Lufkin, Texas, U.S. He went to Jesse H. Jones High School in Houston, Texas.

After high school, Fred attended the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He played for the UTEP Miners college basketball team from 1979 to 1984. He had to sit out the 1982–83 season because of a broken leg. However, he worked hard and made a strong comeback.

Playing for Team USA

Fred Reynolds was a talented player who represented the United States. He helped his country win medals in important international competitions.

In 1982, he played for the American team at the 1982 World Basketball Championships. The team played well and earned a silver medal, finishing second to Russia.

The next year, in 1983, Fred was part of the gold medal-winning United States national team. They competed in the 1983 Pan American Games held in Caracas, Venezuela. Winning a gold medal was a big achievement for Fred and his team.

Professional Basketball Career

After his college career, Fred Reynolds was chosen by the Washington Bullets in the 1984 NBA draft. He was picked in the second round, as the 44th overall player.

Even though he was drafted by an NBA team, Fred also gained experience playing professional basketball overseas. He played for teams in both Belgium and Spain. This gave him a chance to play in different leagues and experience international basketball. He also played in the Philippines for the PBA.
