Francisco Walfrido "Frido" Croes (born December 3, 1957 – died October 9, 2020) was an important politician and teacher from Aruba. He worked for his country in many ways. From 2005 to 2009, he was the Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba, representing Aruba in the Netherlands. Before that, he was a member of Aruba's parliament, called the Estates of Aruba, from 1989 to 1994. He even became the President of the Estates from 2001 to 2004. Frido Croes also served as the Minister of Education from 2004 to 2005, helping to improve schools in Aruba.

Early Life and Education
Frido Croes was born on December 3, 1957, in Aruba. Aruba is a beautiful island in the Caribbean Sea, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
After finishing high school, Frido Croes decided to become a teacher. He studied at the Aruban Pedagogical Academy. Once he graduated, he taught at Colegio San Jose in Santa Cruz for ten years. For four of those years, he was also the head teacher. Later, from 1994 to 2001, he worked for the Department of Education as a Public Liaison Official. This role meant he helped connect the public with education services.
Political Career
Joining the People's Electoral Movement
In 1988, Frido Croes joined the People's Electoral Movement (MEP). This is a major political party in Aruba.
Serving in the Estates of Aruba
From 1989 to 1994, he was elected as a member of the Estates of Aruba. This is like Aruba's parliament, where laws are made. During 1993 and 1994, he also served as the Vice-President of the Estates. This meant he helped lead the parliament.
In October 2001, Frido Croes was chosen to be the President of the Estates. He held this important position until May 2004.
Minister of Education
In 2004, Frido Croes became the Minister of Education and Administrative Affairs. He took over from Fredis Refunjol, who became the Governor of Aruba. As Minister of Education, Frido Croes was in charge of Aruba's schools and learning programs. He served in this role until November 2005.
Minister Plenipotentiary
On November 8, 2005, Frido Croes was given a new important job. He became the Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba in the Netherlands. In this role, he represented Aruba's government in the Netherlands. He worked to strengthen the relationship between Aruba and the Netherlands. He served in this position until October 31, 2009.
Later Life
Frido Croes passed away on October 9, 2020, at the age of 62. He is remembered for his dedication to education and his long service in Aruban politics.
