Fumiya Iwamaru (岩丸 史也, Iwamaru Fumiya, born December 4, 1981) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a goalkeeper for several teams in Japan's professional leagues.

Playing Career

Early Years and First Teams

Fumiya Iwamaru was born in Fujioka, Japan, on December 4, 1981. After finishing high school, he began his professional football career in 2000. He joined Vissel Kobe, a team in Japan's top football league, the J1 League. For a few years, he didn't play much. But in 2004, he got more chances to play when the main goalkeeper was injured.

Later in 2004, he moved to Júbilo Iwata, another J1 League team. There, he also played more often when their regular goalkeeper was hurt. In 2005, Fumiya Iwamaru joined Thespa Kusatsu (now called Thespakusatsu Gunma). This team was new to the J2 League, which is Japan's second-highest football division. He played many games for them, competing for the goalkeeper spot.

Moving Between Clubs

In 2006, Iwamaru moved to Avispa Fukuoka, a team that had just been promoted to the J1 League. However, he didn't play much there. The next year, 2007, he joined Yokohama FC, another newly promoted J1 League team. This team was relegated back to the J2 League within a year.

Even though he didn't play much in 2008, he got to play more often in 2009 for Yokohama FC. But in 2010, he didn't play any games at all.

Later Career and Retirement

In 2011, Fumiya Iwamaru moved to Roasso Kumamoto, a team in the J2 League. He played a few games for them over two seasons. In 2013, he joined V-Varen Nagasaki, another team that had just moved up to the J2 League. He played in the first three matches for them, but then another goalkeeper took his place for the rest of the season.

His final team was Thespakusatsu Gunma in 2014, which was in his home region. He didn't play any games during that season. At the end of 2014, Fumiya Iwamaru decided to retire from professional football. Throughout his career, he played a total of 63 league games.
