Where the Name Gárdony Comes From
The name Gárdony is thought to have started way back in the early 1200s. It's an old name with a long history.

We know Gárdony has been around for a long time. There's a written record from 1260 that mentions a place called Gardun. This was during the time of King Zsigmond, who ruled from 1387 to 1437.
Gárdony used to be a village. But on March 31, 1989, it officially became a town. This was an important step for the community.
