George Lloyd Spencer (born March 27, 1893 – died January 14, 1981) was an American politician from Arkansas. He was a member of the Democratic Party. He represented Arkansas in the United States Senate from 1941 to 1943.

Early Life and Education
George Lloyd Spencer was born in Sarcoxie, Missouri, on March 27, 1893. When he was nine years old, in 1902, his family moved to Okolona, Arkansas.
School Days
Spencer went to public schools as a child. Later, he attended the Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey. He also studied at Henderson College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

George Lloyd Spencer was a brave American who served in the military during two big wars.
World War I Service
During World War I, Spencer joined the United States Navy. He served as a Seaman, Second Class. This was his first time serving in the Navy.
From 1931 to 1943, Spencer was a lieutenant commander in the United States Naval Reserve. When World War II started, he chose to return to the Navy to help his country.
Life in Arkansas
After his first time in the Navy, Spencer moved to Hope, Arkansas in 1921. There, he started a career in two important areas: banking and farming.
A Senator for Arkansas
On April 1, 1941, George Lloyd Spencer was chosen to be a U.S. Senator. He filled the spot left by Senator Joseph Taylor Robinson. He served as a senator until January 3, 1943. Instead of running for re-election, he decided to go back to the Navy for World War II.
Business and Community Work
After his time as a senator and in the Navy, Spencer was involved in many important roles.
- He was a director for the Arkansas-Louisiana Gas Company in Shreveport, Louisiana.
- He also served as a commissioner for the Southwest Arkansas Water District.
- Spencer was the executive vice president for Arkansas in the Red River Valley Association.

Later Life and Passing
George Lloyd Spencer passed away in Hope, Arkansas, on January 14, 1981. He was buried in Rosehill Gardens in Hope.
