Nnadubem Gabriel Enyinaya Muoneke (born February 7, 1978) is a Nigerian American professional basketball player. Even though he was born in the United States, Muoneke plays for Nigeria in international games.

Gabe Muoneke's Early Life and College

Gabe, as he is often called, grew up in Houston, Texas. He went to Cypress Falls High School. After high school, he studied at the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated in 2000 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

College Basketball Career

Gabe played basketball for the University of Texas team for four years. He was a starter in all those years. He is one of the top 15 players in the university's history for both scoring points and getting rebounds. After college, he was not chosen in the NBA draft.

Gabe Muoneke's Professional Basketball Journey

Gabe Muoneke played for many teams around the world. He played in places like Puerto Rico, Turkey, China, South Korea, Spain, and Iran. He also played in several NBA summer leagues. He even signed contracts with NBA teams like the Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets. However, he was later released from these teams.

Playing in China

While playing in China, Gabe Muoneke set many scoring records. He was one of the top scorers in the country for three seasons. During his time with the Yunnan Running Bulls, an incident happened after a game. Some players from the Shanghai Sharks team confronted Gabe and his family. A water bottle was thrown, and Gabe was chased. The players involved were later fined and suspended. The Shanghai Sharks team also received a fine. Gabe was not hurt during this event.

Life After Basketball

From November 2007, Gabe Muoneke wrote a blog on Hoopshype.com. In his blog, he shared stories about his basketball career. He also wrote about living in different countries and about politics.

In 2007-2008, he signed a contract with a Spanish team, Saski Baskonia. This team was a champion in Spain and played in the Euroleague Final Four. His contract ended, and he decided not to renew it.

In 2009, Gabe hinted on his blog that he would retire from basketball. He officially retired at the age of 30. After retiring from basketball, Gabe started a new career. In 2010, he began working in the oil and gas industry in Africa. He has since started his own company in Nigeria, his parents' home country.
