Early Life and Family
Gabriela Spanic was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She grew up in Ortiz. Her father, Casimiro Spanic, was from Croatia, and her mother, Norma Utrera, was Venezuelan.
Gabriela has a twin sister named Daniela Spanic. She also has a younger sister, Patricia, and a younger brother, Antonio. Gabriela studied Psychology at a university in Caracas for one year. However, she decided to leave school to become an actress.
How Gabriela Spanic Started Acting
Gabriela Spanic began her career in 1992. She joined the Miss Venezuela 1992 beauty contest, representing her home state, Guárico. Even though she didn't win, the contest helped her start acting.
After the contest, she appeared in Venezuelan telenovelas. One of her first roles was playing a bad character named Linda Prado in a show called Morena Clara.
First Main Roles
In 1994, Gabriela got her first main role in a telenovela called Como Tu Ninguna. This show was very popular and aired for two years. It was a huge success both in Venezuela and in other countries.
