Early Life and Education
Gaia Weiss was born in Paris, France. Her parents are Catherine and Alain Weiss. She has a brother named Auriel. Her family background includes Ashkenazi Jewish heritage from her father's side. Her grandfather, Jean-Michel Weiss, was a member of the French Resistance. Her mother's family is from Poland.
Gaia grew up living in different countries. She spent time in France, England, and Poland. Because of this, she can speak many languages. She speaks French, English, Polish, Italian, German, and Hebrew.
When she was three years old, Gaia started taking classical ballet lessons. She loved watching plays in London with her great-uncle. These shows inspired her to become an actress. She began taking acting classes when she was seven. After finishing high school, she studied acting at the Cours Florent in Paris. She also attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
Acting Career
Gaia Weiss started her film career in 2013. She played Mary Fleming in the movie Mary Queen of Scots. She also appeared in the Italian movie White as Milk, Red as Blood.
In 2014, Gaia joined the TV series Vikings. She played the character Þorunn in the second and third seasons. This role made her more widely known.
She has been in several other films. These include the mythology film The Legend of Hercules (2014) and the French comedy Serial Teachers 2 (2015). She also appeared in the action movie Overdrive (2017). In 2017, she was in Accidental Family. She also had a small part in the series Medici: Masters of Florence.
More recently, Gaia starred in the French horror film Meander and the British horror film Shepherd. She played Marianne in the Netflix series La Révolution. She also lent her voice to the character Fulke in the video game Assassin's Creed Valhalla (2020). In 2022, she played Madame du Barry in the TV series Marie Antoinette.
