Gail Giles (born September 24 in Galveston, Texas) is an American author. She writes exciting books for young adults. These books often explore social issues in a way that feels real to teens. Dead Girls Don't Write Letters

Her second novel, Dead Girls Don't Write Letters, also won awards. It was an ALA Top 10 Quick pick in 2003. It was also a Book Sense 76 selection. This book is about a girl named Sunny. Her older sister, Jazz, has recently passed away. Then, Sunny gets a letter that seems to be from her sister. After that, things start to get very strange. This book makes you think deeply about feelings and ideas.

Other Novels

Giles' third novel, Playing in Traffic (2003), tells a big story. It is about a boy who tries to help a gothic girl.

Her fourth book, What Happened to Cass McBride? (2006), talks about problems teens face.

In September 2007, she released another teen novel. It was called Right Behind You. This book is about a boy who feels bad after making a big mistake.

Dark Song came out on September 7, 2010. It is a fast-paced thriller. It's about a girl who falls in love with the wrong boy.

No Returns was written with Deb Vanasse in 2014. It is the first book in a series called the Battleband Saga. It's about a boy band that accidentally makes a deal with the devil. The boys find out there's more at stake than just their fame.
