About Galila Ron-Feder Amit
Galila Ron-Feder Amit was born in Haifa, Israel in 1949. She went to the Hebrew Reali School when she was younger. Later, she studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. There, she learned about the Bible and Hebrew literature. Galila is a mother to three children. She has also been a foster parent to ten children from different homes.
Her Books and Writing
Galila Ron-Feder Amit published her very first book in 1971. She has written many popular books for children. Some of her most famous series include Gingi (Hebrew: ג'ינג'י) and Tuli Ta'alooli (Hebrew: טולי תעלולי). These books have become classics in Hebrew literature. In 1972, she started publishing a nature magazine for children. She also edited a science magazine for young readers.
Awards and Recognition
Galila Ron-Feder Amit has received several important awards for her work. A film called To Myself was made based on her experiences as a foster mother. This film won First Prize at the Frankfurt Children's Film Festival. In 2008, she received the World Zionist Organization Award.
