Galilea Montijo (born Martha Galilea Montijo Torres on June 5, 1973) is a famous Mexican actress, comedian, model, and TV presenter. She is well-known for hosting Hoy, a popular morning show on Televisa. This show airs from Monday to Friday in Mexico and the United States.
Galilea also hosted Pequeños Gigantes. This was a talent-reality show that became very popular in Mexico and the U.S. She hosted its first two seasons in 2011 and 2012. In 2014, she hosted "Va Por Ti," another successful show. In 2015, she hosted "Me Pongo De Pie."
Her Career Journey
Galilea Montijo started her career after winning a contest called La Chica TV in 1993. After that, she appeared in many telenovelas, which are like long TV soap operas.
From 2001 to 2005, Galilea hosted a show called VidaTV. In 2002, she joined a reality show called Big Brother VIP. She even won the competition! In 2005, she also took part in Bailando por un Sueño, a dancing competition. In 2006, Galilea starred in the Mexican telenovela La Verdad Oculta. She acted alongside Gabriel Soto in this show.
Her Personal Life
In November 2020, Galilea shared that she had tested positive for COVID-19. Because of this, she had to cancel some of her work plans for a while.
