Gamba, California facts for kids
Gamba was once a small place where people lived in Kern County, California. It was located about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) southeast of a town called Mojave.
This settlement was situated along the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. Railroads were very important in the past for connecting different areas and helping people and goods travel across the country.
Today, Gamba is no longer an active community. Places like Gamba often become "former settlements" when people move away, perhaps because jobs changed, resources ran out, or new transportation routes made other areas more convenient.
