The Gameti First Nation is a group of Tłı̨chǫ people, who are one of Canada's Indigenous peoples. They live in the Northwest Territories, a large area in northern Canada. Their main community is called Gamètì, which was known as Rae Lakes before 2005. Most of the Gameti First Nation members, about 319 out of 366, live in Gamètì.

How is their government structured?
In 2005, the Gameti First Nation became part of the larger Tłı̨chǫ Government. This was an important step for their self-governance. The Tłı̨chǫ Government now manages many of the daily tasks and responsibilities for the Gameti community.
Together, the Tłı̨chǫ Government holds rights to a large area of land. This land covers about 39,000 square kilometers. This means they have a special connection and responsibility to this land. Even with the new Tłı̨chǫ Government, the Canadian federal government still recognizes the Gameti First Nation.
