Garhi Yasin is a town in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It is also a "taluka," which means it's like a sub-district. This town is an important part of Shikarpur District.
Garhi Yasin is located in northern Sindh. It is the second largest town in Shikarpur District. More than 14,000 people live here. The town sits on the right bank of the Indus River.
This area has always been important. It is close to Shikarpur, a city that was once a major trade center. Merchants from Shikarpur traded goods through the Bolan Pass with many towns in Central Asia.

Garhi Yasin taluka includes two main towns: Dakhan and Madeji. It also has several important villages. These include Tarai, Pirchandam, Haji Rohelo Khan Jaffri, and Bado.
Education in Garhi Yasin
The town has good schools for students. There is a Higher Secondary School named after Agha Badaruddin Khan Durrani. Garhi Yasin also has three high schools and many primary schools. These schools help young people get an education.
Farming and Agriculture
A large part of the land around Garhi Yasin is farmed. Farmers use irrigation to water their crops. The main crops grown here are rice, wheat, and pulses. They also grow maize, sugarcane, vegetables, and fruits.
Local Industries
Garhi Yasin has a small market where goods are sold. Local people make many things by hand. These include handicrafts, metal items, and furniture. They also produce bricks and pottery. In the past, hand-loom weaving was very popular here.
Land and Climate
The land in Garhi Yasin is mostly flat and fertile. However, after the Sukkur Barrage was built, some lands faced problems. They are quickly turning into salty lands, also known as "Kalar." Waterlogging and salinity are big issues in Garhi Yasin. The climate is very hot and dry. Temperatures can reach as high as 49 degrees Celsius (120 degrees Fahrenheit).
