Garraf is a small village located right by the sea. You can find it between the towns of Sitges and Castelldefels in the Garraf region of Catalonia, Spain. The village is surrounded by the beautiful Garraf Natural Park.
About Garraf Village
Garraf is part of the larger town of Sitges. It used to be a small fishing village. Today, it has become a popular place for holidays. Its beach gets very busy during the summer months. The village also has its own small RENFE train station.
Garraf has a special harbor called Port del Garraf. This is a marina where boats can dock. It was first built in 1902. Back then, it was used to load stones from nearby quarries. Quarries are places where rocks like limestone are dug out of the ground.
You can find a small, white church in Garraf. It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. There is also a famous building called Celler Güell (which means Guell Winery). This unique house was designed by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí. Today, it is home to a restaurant.
The village of Garraf is very pretty. It sits at the bottom of the Garraf Massif, which is a large mountain area. However, because of the nearby quarries, it can sometimes get dusty on windy days, especially in the fall and winter.
Getting Around Garraf
