Garrick Hagon's Acting Journey

Garrick Hagon was born in London, England. He grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He went to Trinity College where he studied English.

His acting career started early! He performed with the famous actor Alec Guinness in a play called Richard III at the Stratford Festival in Canada. He acted there for seven seasons and even won an award in 1963. He also appeared in a TV show called The Forest Rangers in 1964. Later, he studied acting in London and performed in many plays, including All My Sons and After The Fall.

The Voice Behind the Scenes

Garrick Hagon is also a very busy voice actor. You can hear his voice in many films and TV shows. He was Captain Carter in the UK version of Star Fleet/X-Bomber. He also lent his voice to Japanese animated films like The Secret of Mamo and Goodbye Lady Liberty. He even voiced characters in the video game Divinity II: Ego Draconis.

He has recorded over 150 audiobooks, which are books read aloud. He has also directed more than 100 audiobook recordings. This includes the popular Wolf Brother series, read by Ian McKellen, and the award-winning His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman.

A Star Wars Hero

In the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, Garrick Hagon played Biggs Darklighter. Biggs was a brave pilot who helped in the big battle against the Death Star. Even though his role was short, it was very important and heroic!

In the 2011 Blu-ray version of Star Wars, you can see more of Biggs's story. There's a scene on Tatooine where he talks with other characters. Because of his role as Biggs, Garrick Hagon is often invited to sci-fi conventions. He is also a special guest at events for Star Wars fan groups like the "Rebel Legions" and "501st Garrisons" around the world.

Other Notable Roles

Garrick Hagon has been in many other movies. He played the Dad in Tim Burton's Batman. He was Ammar in The Message and a CIA Director in Spy Game. He also appeared in Me and Orson Welles and A Bridge Too Far. In 2012, he returned to Doctor Who in the episode "A Town Called Mercy".
