Gary Anthony Sturgis is an American actor, musician, writer, teacher, and entrepreneur. He was born on November 3, 1966. He is well-known for his voice acting, especially as Ebon in the cartoon series Static Shock. He has also appeared in many TV shows and movies. Besides acting, he makes music under the name Illuminati.

Early Life and First Steps in Acting
Gary Sturgis grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the second of four sons. In high school, he played the piccolo and led the band as a drum major.
One day, for a school assignment, he wrote about how much he loved acting. His teacher noticed his passion and invited him to a play reading. Gary got a part as an understudy, which means he learned the role in case the main actor couldn't perform. Later, he even got to play the main character in the play A Raisin in the Sun. This was the start of his acting journey!
Gary Sturgis's Acting Career
Gary Sturgis began his acting career in movies. His first film was The Big Easy in 1986. He also appeared in Blaze in 1989.
Movies and TV Shows
Gary Sturgis has played many different characters. He was in two films by Tyler Perry: Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) and Daddy's Little Girls (2007). He also acted alongside Terrence Howard in the movie Pride (2007).
On television, he had roles in popular shows like NYPD Blue, Malcolm and Eddie, and Girlfriends. He also had a recurring role as Caz in Port Charles, which was a spin-off of General Hospital.

In the mid-1990s, Gary Sturgis started doing voice-over work. You might have heard his voice in commercials and movie trailers. He was the voice for the UPN network, promoting shows like The Parkers and Moesha.

This was his first professional writing job. His first episode for Tyler Perry's House of Payne aired on December 16, 2008.
