Gavril Dejeu, born on September 11, 1932, is a Romanian politician. He served as the Minister of Interior in Romania. He also held the important role of acting Prime Minister of Romania for a short time in 1998.

Early Life and Education
Gavril Dejeu was born in a place called Poieni, in Cluj County, Romania. He went to Babeș-Bolyai University. There, he studied and earned a degree in Law.
Joining Politics
After finishing his studies, Gavril Dejeu became involved in politics. He joined the Christian Democratic National Peasants' Party (PNȚCD) in 1989. This was right after the Romanian Revolution. The revolution was a big event that changed Romania's government.
From 1992 to 2000, Dejeu was a member of the Chamber of Deputies. This is like one of the main law-making groups in Romania's government.
