Stanley Gawurra Gaykamangu, known simply as Gawurra, is a talented singer and songwriter from Australia. He comes from a place called Milingimbi in North East Arnhem. Gawurra sings in the Gupapuyngu language, which is the traditional language of his people.
Gawurra's Music Journey
Gawurra's first album was called Ratja Yaliyali. This name means "vine of love" in his language. The songs on the album were inspired by the old, traditional songs from his hometown. He recorded this special album at CAAMA Music in Alice Springs, Australia.
