Julius J. "Geechie" Fields (born September 9, 1904 – died August 15, 1997) was a talented American jazz musician. He was best known for playing the Trombone.

Early Life and Musical Start
Geechie Fields grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. He learned to play the trombone at the Jenkins Orphanage. This orphanage was famous for its musical training programs.
His Music Career
In the early 1920s, Geechie Fields began touring with the Jenkins Orphanage bands. Later, he moved to New York City. There, he became a regular musician at John O'Connor's club.
Instruments Geechie Played
While the trombone was his main instrument, Geechie Fields also played other instruments. He was known to play the alto saxophone and the clarinet. This showed his wide range of musical skills.
Working with Other Jazz Stars
Geechie Fields played with many famous jazz artists. In 1926 and 1927, he performed with Earle Howard. He also recorded music with the legendary Jelly Roll Morton in 1928 and 1930. Fields worked with Charlie Skeete and Bill Benford in 1929. He also collaborated with Clarence Williams and James P. Johnson.
Later Life
In the 1930s, Geechie Fields married a singer named Myra Johnson. Later in his life, he decided to leave the music world. He started a new career as a boxing coach.
