Gema Simon (born on July 19, 1990) is a former Australian soccer player. She played for several teams during her career. These included the Newcastle Jets and Melbourne Victory. She also played for the Australia women's national soccer team.

Early Life and Background
Gema Simon was born in Armidale, Australia. She is an Indigenous Australian. Gema was the oldest of three children in her family. She started playing soccer when she was five years old. Her cousin, Kyah Simon, is also a famous Australian soccer player.
Playing Career Highlights
Club Teams and Achievements
Gema Simon was part of the very first Newcastle Jets team. This was in the W-League season of 2008–09. The W-League is Australia's top women's soccer league.
In May 2013, Gema joined USL W-League team Ottawa Fury in Canada. She faced an injury during her time there.
Later in 2013, Gema became the captain of the Newcastle Jets. She was also named the Jets' Player of the Year for the 2013–14 season. This award showed how important she was to the team.
After being captain, Simon moved to Melbourne Victory for the 2014–15 season. She then returned to the Newcastle Jets in October 2015.
In 2016, Gema played for Suwon in South Korea. This was a loan move during the Australian off-season. After this, she became captain of the Newcastle Jets again.
Gema Simon returned to the Newcastle Jets in September 2023. She played her final season with them before retiring from professional soccer.
Playing for Australia
Gema Simon also played for Australia's national teams. In 2009, she joined the Australia under-20 team. She played her first game for them in July 2009.
Her debut for the senior Australian team was in March 2014. This was during the 2014 Cyprus Cup tournament. She played a full match against Scotland. Gema was also part of the Australian squad for the 2015 Cyprus Cup.
