Gema Simon (born 19 July 1990) is a former Australian soccer player. She played as a defender or a winger. Gema played for many teams, including the Newcastle Jets and the Australian national team.

Early Life and Family
Gema Simon was born in Armidale, Australia. She is an Indigenous Australian. Gema grew up as the oldest of three children. Her cousin, Kyah Simon, is also a well-known Australian soccer player. Gema started playing soccer when she was five years old.
Playing Career Highlights
Club Career
Gema Simon was a part of the very first Newcastle Jets team. This was in the W-League (which is now called the A-League Women) during the 2008–09 season.
In May 2013, Gema joined a team called Ottawa Fury in North America. She played in the USL W-League. During her time there, she got injured.
Later in 2013, Gema was chosen to be the captain of the Newcastle Jets. She also won the Jets' Player of the Year award for the 2013–14 season.
After being captain for the Jets, Simon moved to play for Melbourne Victory for a season.
In October 2015, Gema returned to play for the Newcastle Jets again.
After a good season with the Jets, Simon signed a deal to play for Suwon in South Korea. This was a loan, which means she played for them for a short time before returning to her main team.
After her loan in South Korea, Gema was announced as the captain of the Newcastle Jets once more.
In September 2023, Simon returned to the Newcastle Jets for another time. She retired from playing soccer at the end of that season.
International Career
In 2009, Gema Simon was called up to play for the Australia under-20 team. She played her first game for them in July 2009 against South Korea.
Simon was first chosen to play for the Australian senior national team (the Matildas) in 2014. She made her debut for the team in March 2014. She played a full game in a match against Scotland. She was also part of the Australian team in 2015.

- Tournament of Nations: Gema was part of the team that won the 2017 Tournament of Nations.
Individual Awards
- Newcastle Jets Player of the Year: Gema won this award twice, in 2009–10 and 2013–14.
