Geneva is a small community in Seminole County, Florida, in the United States. It's a special kind of place called a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it's a community that the government counts for population, but it's not an officially incorporated city or town.
In 2020, about 2,913 people lived in Geneva. It is also part of the larger Orlando area. You can find the beautiful Little-Big Econ State Forest here. This forest is home to the Big and Little Econlockhatchee Rivers.

History of Geneva
The history of Geneva was first written down by John and William Bartram in 1765-1766. Later, other experts also documented the area. These included anthropologist Daniel Britton in 1850 and scientists from Harvard University in 1875.
Geneva Cemetery
The Geneva Cemetery is on land that was given by Progar Debogory. He was the head of one of the Russian families who settled in the Geneva area in the 1800s. Today, 17 soldiers from the U.S. Civil War are buried there. Most of them, 15 soldiers, fought for the Confederacy. Only two soldiers fought for the Union.
Early Schools in Geneva
In the early days, schools in Geneva were held in people's homes. The first official school building was built in 1874. This land was also donated by Progar Debogory.
By 1903, a new one-room schoolhouse was built to replace the first one. In 1924, a bigger brick building with four rooms was constructed. This new building could fit more students.
In 1941, the principal, W.L. Seig, started a special 4-H program. This program taught students important skills like home economics and farming. Rollins College helped support this program. This achievement is recognized in the "History of the Seminole County Public Schools."
In 1988, a new elementary school was built around the old brick schoolhouse. The old schoolhouse was saved for the community. In 1995, it became a family resource center. Finally, in 2008, the building was dedicated as a rural heritage center for the community.
Geography of Geneva
Geneva covers a total area of about 32.2 square kilometers (12.4 square miles). Most of this area, 29.5 square kilometers (11.4 square miles), is land. The rest, about 2.7 square kilometers (1.0 square miles), is water.
Geneva is located on State Road 46. It is found between two lakes: Lake Harney and Lake Jesup.
