Geoffrey Hayes' Early Life
Geoffrey Hayes had different jobs before he became an actor. He worked as a booking clerk for British Rail. Later, he went to drama school in Manchester to train as an actor.
His most famous role was presenting Rainbow. This was a children's show made by Thames Television. He took over from the first host, David Cook. Before Rainbow, Geoffrey was an actor in other shows. He had a regular part in the police drama Z-Cars on BBC One. He also helped write some episodes of Rainbow.
Life After Rainbow
After Rainbow finished in 1992, Geoffrey Hayes continued to work. He appeared in music videos and other TV shows. He once worked as a taxicab driver.
He was in a music video for the Oasis tribute band, No Way Sis. In the video, he played a taxi driver. This was similar to what Patrick Macnee did in an Oasis music video. In 2008, Geoffrey was part of a campaign for Walkers Crisps. This campaign was about finding the missing monster puppets from old Monster Munch adverts. They reached the final round of the game.
