George Ezra Barnett was born in Hertford, Hertfordshire, on June 7, 1993. His parents were both teachers. He went to primary school in Bengeo and then Simon Balle School. Later, he studied at Hertford Regional College.
In 2011, George moved to Bristol to study songwriting. He has an older sister, Jessica, who sometimes joins him on tour. His younger brother, Ethan, is also a singer-songwriter known as Ten Tonnes.

Filmography
2022: End to End
End to End is a documentary film. It follows George Ezra and two friends, Adam Scarborough and Christy Tattershall. They go on a long journey from Land's End to John o' Groats in the UK. The film was shown in cinemas for one day in August 2022. It was later released on Amazon Prime UK in January 2023.
