George Washington Swarn III, born on February 15, 1964, is a former American football player. He was a talented running back. George played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cleveland Browns. He was also drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. Before turning pro, he played college football for the Miami Redskins.

George Swarn's Early Life and College Football
George Washington Swarn III was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 15, 1964. He grew up in Mansfield, Ohio, and went to Malabar High School.
College Football Success
George was a star player for the Miami Redskins from 1983 to 1986. He showed great skill as a running back.
In 1984, he rushed for 1,282 yards. He also scored five touchdowns. George caught 20 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown that year.
His junior year in 1985 was even better. He ran for 1,511 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 44 passes for 424 yards and four touchdowns. George led the Mid-American Conference in rushing yards in both 1984 and 1985.
George Swarn's Professional Football Career
George Swarn was chosen by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1987 NFL Draft. He was the 118th player picked overall. He signed with the team in July 1987. However, he was released by the Cardinals in September of that year.
Time with the Cleveland Browns
George then signed with the Cleveland Browns in October 1987. He played in one game for the Browns during the 1987 season. He did not record any statistics in that game. He was later placed on injured reserve. He spent the entire 1988 season on injured reserve as well. The Browns released him in September 1989.
Later Career with the Miami Dolphins
In April 1990, George signed with the Miami Dolphins. He was placed on injured reserve again in August 1990. This ended his season. He became a free agent in February 1991.
