Georgi Hristov's Club Career
Georgi Hristov began his football journey in his hometown of Bitola. He started playing for the club Pelister when he was just 16 years old. This was a very young age to start playing in a top league!
Playing for Partizan and Barnsley
In 1994, Georgi moved to Partizan, a famous club. He spent three years there and helped them win the league championship two times in a row, in 1996 and 1997.
In 1997, Georgi Hristov moved to England to play for Barnsley. They paid a lot of money for him, about £1.5 million. In his first season, he scored four goals in the league. However, the team was moved down to a lower league that year. Over the next two seasons, Georgi had some knee injuries, which meant he missed many games.
Later Clubs and Challenges
After leaving Barnsley, Georgi joined the Dutch club NEC in 2000. In his first season there, he was the team's top scorer with 15 goals! He played two more seasons with NEC, but injuries continued to be a challenge.
In 2003, he moved to Zwolle, another Dutch team. He had another knee surgery in 2004, which kept him from playing for a while. After that, he played for several other clubs, including Dunfermline Athletic in Scotland, Debrecen in Hungary, and Hapoel Nazareth Illit in Israel. He also played for Den Bosch, Baku, and JJK before ending his playing career.

Georgi Hristov was an important player for the Macedonia national team. He played 48 games for them and scored 16 goals.
He scored a goal in his very first game for Macedonia on May 10, 1995. That game was a 2-2 draw against Armenia. His last game for his country was on October 12, 2005, when Macedonia drew 0-0 against the Netherlands.

Life After Playing: Managerial Career
After he stopped playing football, Georgi Hristov became a manager. In October 2011, he became the manager of Metalurg Skopje. He stayed in that role until November 2012.
